并列词
并列词的考查方式分两种,
Not A but B,
Although A…, B…
Despite A…, B…
Eg. Despite the efforts of the government …
此部分关联词组所引导的信息前部A为否定后部B为肯定故真相应在后部B中体现,所以此类并列词被称为“前否后肯”。另有一类:
Prefer A to B.
A is better than B
A rather than B
A other than B
Eg 1). I listened to the radio, the talk show programs. I think it’s very useful. It’s better than just watching TV.
Eg 2). For our research methods, we depended mainly on talking with individuals, asking them questions rather than using written questionnaires.
此类句子中前者A是首选,被作者认为是“好于/强于”后者,故真相应是前者信息。我们称之为“前肯后否”。
从听题难度上讲,以上两种中那个更容易听对信息而得分?是第一种。因为第二种信息的真相位于前部(A),人脑处理信息过程中对最后进入耳朵的后部信息(B)会产生信息停留的现象,即对B会更有强烈的“烙印”,从而误认为B是真相而误听。有鉴于此,烤鸭备考中更应提防“前肯后否”这种隐形杀手!
