Hanging out with friends
Who do you like to hang out with?
Um…I’m fairly keen on hanging out with my friends. I’d say it’s mainly my classmates, cos I get on with them really well, at least most of them anyway! And that’s probably due to the fact that we’ve got a lot in common, like studying the same subject, and having the same interests. And um, yeah, we’re quite a close-knit group, so I always tend to have a good time when I’m out with them.
Parks and Gardens
Do you think the government should spend more money on public gardens for the cities or for the villages and small towns in the countryside?
Sure. They are places for the community to come together, for families to walk in, and for children to play in. Green spaces help make people active. What’s more, there is certainly an aesthetic value. There’s also the value in the plants creating clean oxygen for people to breathe.
Social Network
What kinds of people do you like to be friends with on those websites?
I think I would have to say that it really depends. I mean, if anyone’s interested enough to get in touch with me on a social networking site, then it feels quite nice, you know, someone’s gone out of their way to contact me. So I kind of appreciate it, and I’m generally willing to make friends with them.
Public Transportation
Is driving to work popular in your country?
I don't think so. In China, traffic jams often happen in rush hour, especially in rainy days. So most people choose to go to work by subway since it has the merit of convenience, shortcut and vast capacity.
Outdoor activities
What (types of) outdoor activities are popular in your country?
People in China do many different outdoor activities. For children, they like playing sports, such as badminton, tennis, and volleyball. Conversely, for young people, they may hang out with friends or go on picnics in the parks. Old people usually like dancing on the square.
