2 With the development of computer and Internet, the distance education becomes more popular,How about you think about the distance education?

With the rapid development of science and technology, tele-education has sped up in our country. While many people speak highly of its advantages, others see more disadvantages deriving from it.

The advocates of tele-education give their arguments as follows. For one thing, tele-education makes it possible for people in remote areas to learn the subjects they are interested in. For another, people have a wider range of choices as to teachers and lessons through tele-education, because they can listen to the best lessons by the best teachers in the country, or even in the world.

Just as "Every advantage has its disadvantages", the opponents believe that not all the people have access to tele-education because many are poor. In addition, the students cannot contact teachers, but interpersonal relations are important to their study.

As far as I am concerned, we should develop tele-education more rapidly to benefit more students. Meanwhile, we can design some programs to help teachers and students to contact each other.

3 “Everyone can be a volunteer”, To what extent do you agree with this attitude?

(BEIJING, April 29) -- Liu Jian, director of the BOCOG Volunteer Department, said Olympic volunteer projects offer the public opportunities to participate in and contribute to the Beijing Olympics.

"Every citizen can volunteer and everyone is a volunteer," he told Beijing2008.cn.

According to Liu, volunteering can be done anytime and anywhere. "You can volunteer by helping others, being environmentally-friendly, and having good manners. We sincerely hope that everyone would join us and work together to build up a harmonious social environment."

"It can be seen as a voluntary practice if you pick up a scrap of paper and throw it into the dustbin. Simply volunteer four hours a session and after three sessions you become a city volunteer," Liu said. It was planned that City Volunteer, one of BOCOG's six volunteer projects, would attract 400,000 participants.

Volunteering in China is still in its infancy. But mobilization campaigns in recent years have recruited a large number of young people, university students and senior citizens. The volunteers use their specialties to provide information, emergency-response and interpretation services, among others.

Liu pointed to the large number of applications as proof of how well the Games-time volunteer project has been received. By March 31, 2008, the number of applicants had reached 1,125,799, with 908,334 of those applicants applying for both the Beijing Olympics and Paralympics.

The project has drawn 772,000 applicants from the host city Beijing, 292,000 from other provinces, 7,000 from Hong Kong, 2,000 from Macau and 3,000 from Taiwan. There were also 28,000 applications from overseas Chinese and 22,000 from non-Chinese people. Over 40 percent of the applicants offered to work for more than 21 days.

The majority of the applicants are young and well-educated, and nearly half of them have volunteered before. To be specific, 97.87 percent of them are under 35, and 79.9 percent are degree-educated.

Applicants have also been enthusiastic about the "Towards Olympics" Voluntary Service Project, the BOCOG Pre-Games Volunteer Project, the Social Volunteer Project and the Olympic Volunteer Work Legacy Transformation Project.

Volunteer training has been very important to BOCOG, Liu said. "The training program started as early as two years ago, covering general, special, venue and Olympic event training. Currently most volunteers have completed general and special training, and the 'Good Luck Beijing' sport events have provided opportunities to learn to adapt to the needs of the venues and events."

In addition, BOCOG has launched as many as 600 voluntary service programs in Beijing in 16 service categories. "We have done everything we can to meet a variety of needs," Liu said.

The volunteers have not only mastered knowledge of venues, but they have also improved in issues of etiquette, which Liu says "marks progress in our volunteer work."

In order to convey to applicants their importance to the Olympic Games, BOCOG has maintained communication with them through letters, phone calls and meetings and through organizing activities with volunteers.

"Volunteering is a lofty cause that promotes social progress and human development. By providing voluntary service, the volunteers have their skills and qualities improved, and feel the happiness gained through contributing," Liu said.

"Volunteers are the representatives of the fine traditions of China, and the volunteer spirit is a key part of our core values. Thanks to the Beijing Olympics, volunteering in China has received unprecedented attention, participation and support from the public. There is no doubt that the volunteer program will leave us a great legacy," he said, "and will make our society more civilized, people happier, and our country more harmonious.".

4 Do you think old buildings should be broken down, and give place for modern buildings. How are the old buildings important in our society?

Historic buildings present the history, culture as well as citizens` lives of a city for generations. They are also good places attracting tourists all over the world. Further more, they play important roles in public spirit. Therefore, I think that a city should preserve its historic buildings.

First, historic buildings are useful for studies. For each period of time, there are its typical architectures. Historic buildings reflect those architectures and materials that our predecessors used in construction. By studying them, researchers could get understanding about the evolution of not only construction but also society and culture. History as well as society develops continuously, the later generation bases on and inherits from the former and so on. Hence, understanding about the progress of evolution helps us to know better about humanity. This knowledge can be helpful to improve our lives now and our children`s later.

Additionally, historic buildings bring advantages of tourism. In deed, when visiting a place, tourists are always attracted by historic places such as museums, palaces, or buildings. They are fascinated in something different from their home country or different from daily modern life. By maintaining and preserving historic buildings, governments can attract many tourists to visit their city. Consequently, they can get much benefit from tourism. For example, in China, tourism brings in billions dollar benefit annually, and the government also invests a lot of money in developing tourism, especially in maintaining and caring for historic places. For many countries, tourism becomes the sharpest profession.

The last but not the least, historic buildings are spiritual places. People often go to historic places for ceremony or celebration. They come these places to thank for what their ancestors did for them, and wish good things for them and their children. Nevertheless, people are usually proud of their well-known historic place. For instance, French are so proud of their Eiffel tower, Egypt is famous for its pyramid.

In conclusion, historic buildings are invaluable proofs for social and human development studies. They reflect the evolution of history, culture of an area. They are places of public spirit and bring people pride of their city. Furthermore, they are good places to attract tourists and develop tourism. Hence, it is a very good idea that a city should maintain and preserve its historic buildings.

5 There are social, medical problems associated with the use of mobile phone。 What form do they take?Do you agree that the problems outweigh the benefits of the mobile phone?

Nowadays mobile phones are literally invading our lives; from children to elderly, almost everybody owns one. Some people take their own device everywhere with them and can not bear staying without it. It has eventually become a common habit to be on the phone in every situation, no matter with whom you might be and in which occasion, your loyal “friend” is always with you, ready to ring and make you happy.

This might in some extreme cases affect relationships people, because it is alienating for people and their acquaintances. Women and men in couples might feel pulled apart by their partners who love to be on the phone and have a chat once in a while; just, sometimes, this “while” might last hours. Children might feel abandoned by their parents who might find more interesting and less stressing having a talk on the phone than staying with their kids, playing with them, explaining them things.

Furthermore, mobiles have been told to be cause of diseases related to the radio waves they emanate: these illnesses are in many cases fatal and incurable. Many scientific studies have proved that the more one is on the phone the likelier is that he is going to contract a disease related to the warming up of the part of the body exposed to the waves, that is the head.

On top of that, these waves are usually disturbing other devices that are as much useful, if not more, than the mobiles themselves, like, for example, radio stations, TVs, loud speakers and so on - the list is endless.

Despite of all of these negative aspects, I still think mobiles are of great use for our society, where we need to exchange information faster day by day and where keeping in touch with the others is vital for all of us. A wiser utilize of these precious devices might solve many problems without having to get rid of our “friend”, even though keeping it switched off, sometimes, might make our lives more interesting, for us and for the others.

6 When people want to have a journey, urban or suburb is the best? Discuss and give your opinion?
7 a rural area and a city,which is better for the human,Why?

I recently made the choice to escape city life. I resided in a city of just under 500,000 and now live outside of a village of 370.
I made this choice for several reasons. I will elaborate on rationale for leaving city first:
1. Dramatic increase in traffic, crime, graffiti, drug use (addicts in street), litter etc.
2. General melancholy of most people in public, rude clerks in stores..... a sense of holiday blues that never lifted.
3. Lived in Desert southwest, with mounting concerns over global terror living in a desert city is unsafe and un natural. ie:minimal sources of natural food and water.
4. Have a young child whom I wanted to raise in a family oriented atmosphere. Was victim of school bullies. Many underachieving public schools.
5. A sense of being cut of and alone in spite of being surrounded by mobs of people.
6.Too many conveniences and a social/cultural move toward indulgences and excess. Keeping up with the Jones's is a sign of an empty life.
7. Mounting social pressures toward sexual freedoms amongst young people. A loss of family values that even as a NON religious person I find appalling.

Now as a member of a very rural area I enjoy many things that have become fairy tale to city dwellers.
1. I leave my keys in the ignition of my vehicle in my driveway.
2. I leave my doors unlocked, the sense of peace this carries is beyond words.
3. I recognize all of the neighbors and know a large portion of the people in my surrounding communities. In the city I barely knew one neighbor. Here people wave as they drive by your home/car. If you are stopped on a road people you do not know offer to help you, in the city I couldn't get the time of day.
4. Less congestion and a slower pace. This reduces personal stress and creates a harmonious community wherein people act politely.
5. Everyone knowing ones business is not such a bad thing as long as acting properly. In this way everyone knows who the trouble makers are and most are kept in line by fear of disgrace.
6. Churches and civic groups are often doing fundraisers for needy community members. Since these needy people are not faceless strangers everyone is eager to help and donate.
7. Children in schools are better behaved, although not without their issues. Difference is I can approach the parents because there is a good chance we have met somewhere.
8. I live in a farm community and am afforded the opportunity to produce a vegetable garden, chickens , eggs etc.
9. Less population increases personal space and privacy. there is no need to escape on a vacation, everyday here is chill!!

I do miss having a delivered pizza now and again, but I assure you nothing could ever convince me to move back to the urban nightmare. the only problem is the sprawl is headed our way. We are losing small communities to developers. city folks who want to escape just bring their culture with them and park it across the street. Archaic American values and traditions will be extinct someday, that will be a loss to us all.

8 Unemployment is getting increasingly serious in many countries. Some people think students only need to get primary education, while others think secondary education is necessary. What’s your opinion?

9 There are many people who work at home. Some people think there are many benefits to the workers and their families, and others think it will be stressful to both workers and their families. What is your opinion? Discuss both views and give your answer.

10 When choosing a place to live, what do you consider most important: location, size, style, number of rooms, types of rooms, or other features?

Eg:

1.i often do extra work until 10 pm,so…

2.i really have lazy bones, I love sleeping…

注意其他的size, style, number of rooms, types of rooms也要简单提一下,
