Eight people, including government officials and school principals, have been disciplined over the deaths of five street children last week in Southwest China's Guizhou province.
包括政府官员和学校领导在内的八人因贵州五名流浪儿童死亡事件受到处分。
Street children或street kids都指“流浪儿童”。据报道，这五名男童死于carbon monoxide poisoning(一氧化碳中毒)，其中四人已经drop out of school(辍学)多时。
因家长外出打工而出现的left-behind children(留守儿童)成为很多地区的一个特殊人群，他们长期与父母分离，家中的guardian(监护人)多半是grandparents(祖父母)或者distant relatives(远亲)。
