时尚的覆盖面是极其广泛的，服装、饰品、工艺都是关于时尚的热议话题。我们的雅思考题也多是关于服装和工艺美术展开的，所以我们就把时尚话题分为这两类来深入的讨论一下如何答题。今天，就让我们把目光先聚焦在服装上。
关于服装(Clothing)
说到时尚服装，我们自然想到当下正火的一些服装品牌。从高端定制到平民时尚，从奢华顶级品牌Versace, Hermes, 和Gorgio Armani, 再到简约平价品牌Topshop, Zara, 和H&M, 还有在男性中大受欢迎的Calvin Klein和牛仔品牌Diesel, AJ等，我们能触及到的牌子和种类越来越多。再说说风格，从充满仙气儿的神秘森女系Mori girl clothing, 阳光帅气的运动风sports style, 到时尚的简约范儿Simple and contracted, 我们可以把自己从周一到周五打扮成各种不同的风格，来享受时尚带给我们的乐趣。当然，我们还不能忽视服装的材质(materials)，如：Wool(羊毛)，cotton(棉)，silk(丝质)，chemical fibre(化纤)，fur or leather(皮或革)，还有最近越来越流行的太空棉Space Cotton, 都是市面上常见的材料种类。
从传统方面来说，服装的功能(function)仅仅是protect people from climatic conditions and from naked(防止受到天气影响以及起到蔽体的作用)。而现在，服装本身成为了a form of creative artistic expression(一种创意艺术表达形式)，designs can either be embroidered onto the fabric, woven on to the fabric, silk screened, or ironed onto the fabric to create a desired look(设计图案可以被渲染到布料上，可以被编织在布料上，可以丝印，也可以烙在布料上)。而且，服装certainly gives us a sense of confidence and pride in appearance(在外观上使我们变得自信和骄傲)。当然，我们也不能盲目追求时尚，就像顶尖品牌范思哲Versace的创始人Gianni Versace曾经说过，“When a woman changes her look too much from season to season, she becomes a fashion victim.” 所以我们追求时尚要讲求适度(Moderation)。除此之外，过于追求时尚将是一笔巨额的开销，然而这对很大一部分人来说是吃不消的(purchasing every latest season’s fashion clothing will of course blow the budget of many people, particularly the young)。因此，很多人更关注的是穿着的舒适度及其所表达的个性(pay more attention to individuality and comfort in the way we dress)。
再来说说包包(Bags)。包是口语第一部分常考话题之一，关于包的类型我们尤其要掌握。如果你只知道一个handbag和sports bag那就太不时尚了。首先就女式包来说，常见的类型有tote(手提包)、hobo(肩带和包身形成一个圆形的包)、shoulder bag(肩背包)，drawstring bag(水桶包)、messenger bag(斜跨包)以及clutch(手包)。还有男女通用的backpack(双肩包)等。男式包的种类就比较单一了，除了双肩包、斜挎包，还有公文包(briefcase)等等。说到包包的特性，我们可以聊它们的capacity(容量)、utility(实用度)、material(材质)、quality(质量)、price(价格)以及brand(品牌)。
有了一定的知识补充，想必考生们对服装和包包的话题有了一定的自信，能结合所补充的知识和自身的情况来回答问题才是我们的最终目的。所以接下来我们就拿几个第一部分比较有代表性的口语问题来分析看看如何回答这些问题。
1. Q: What kind of clothes do you like to wear?
本题询问服装种类，我们首先快速地从脑子里搜索到相关的词汇，然后加上符合自己的理由，给出答案。
A: I certainly fancy simple and contracted clothing(简约风格) which brings huge comfort and simplicity to me. I know what suits me and what doesn’t, so I always wear clothes and never let clothes wear me. Sometimes I buy trendy brands and clothes, but that takes away individuality(个性).
以上答案用到了刚刚补充的服装风格，又交代了原因，后面补充了自身对于潮流服装的看法，考生们大可在直接回答完问题之后扩展开话题，聊一些与服装有关的内容，这样既能展示自身的词汇量和知识面，又能打开新话题。
我们再来看一道题：
2. Q: Do you like shopping?
本题问的是购物，关于购物我们可以说很多，然而为了省时省力我们可以贯彻“拿来主义”，运用前面用到过的词汇等素材来帮助我们答题，所以在直接回答问题之后我们可以把话题引到服装上来。
A: Sure, sometimes I’m crazy about shopping. The eye-dazzling goods(眼花缭乱的商品)and name brands(名牌) in boutiques(精品店) and shopping centres are just so fascinating that I can’t help myself to buy them. But mostly, I’m rather rational about what I like, like my favourite clothing style, the simple and contracted. I don't really care whether my clothes are from a name brand, but it’s the style I fancy and the comfort and individuality I can enjoy that make me want to buy them.
本题我们也用到了在前面补充的内容，即服装风格和特性。由此可见我们完全可以把已经掌握的知识用于不同的题目中，既丰富了答案，又给自己减了负。
接下来我们再拿一个有关包的题目分析一下如何回答：
3. Q: What kind of bags do you like?
本题我们运用前面讲到的包包类型来直接回答这个问题，并且我们可以用包包的特征来充当喜欢这类包的原因，答案如下。
A: I love shoulder bags(肩背包) most because they have large capacity(容量) so I can put all my stuff, like my purse, my notebook and several bags of handkerchief paper, in it. They are really of high utility and functionality(实用性和功能性).
4. Q: Do you have different bags for different occasions?
本题我们首先照实回答我们拥有的包包种类，然后依然可以运用各种不同的包包种类来扩充答案。
A: Well, I should say I merely have totes(手提包), shoulder bags and backpacks(双肩包), and I do use them for different occasions. For example, I use my shoulder bags and totes for university and backpacks for outdoor activities like hiking or something. But I don't have a clutch(手包) for special occasions because I don't have such occasions to attend.
这两题都涉及到了包包的种类，所以我们运用前面讲过的不同种类包包的名称来丰富我们的答案，这些详细的包包名称既能准确的表示你想说的内容，又能有效地让考官听懂，一举两得。
说完第一部分的话题，我们再来看第二部分中一个有关时尚的经典问题：a piece of clothing you wear on special occasions.

An one-piece dress(连衣裙) I wore on my cousin’s wedding ceremony three years ago is the one that I cherish most and changes me most. It was the very first one-piece dress I bought and I clearly remember that it was a Dolce & Gabbana. I specially bought it in Shanghai two weeks before my cousin’s wedding. To me, it was costly at that time, of course. I bought it because I was firstly invited to be an honoured bridesmaid. I was extremely excited and nervous because I was somewhat about to be the centre of attention. Speaking of the dress, well, it is short, pink and sleeveless(无袖的) with a lace collar(蕾丝领边). I adored it so much, but, honestly, it was my first time wearing such one-piece dress, let alone I had to wear it in front of a fairly large crowd! So on that day, I was so stressful and nervous that I couldn't even look people in their eyes. I was quite encouraged because I used to wearjeans(牛仔裤) and T-shirts(T恤) day after day. I had never changed my clothing style. So, this dress will always be my favourite, and always be a remainder that reminds me of the beauty of change.
